The Wellness Program is a component of Physical Health and features series of workshops that take place in the ninth and 10th grades.
Lessons are planned to help students understand themselves and to be able to monitor their own well-being. Mental health, adaptive/coping skills for stress, digital citizenship, substance abuse/chemical dependence and healthy relationships including sexual health, empathy, kindness and cross cultural competency are part of the curriculum.
We believe that a holistic approach to mental, physical and emotional wellness benefits Sage Hill students in numerous ways, including:
Helping students make choices that support their own wellness;
Supporting a balanced lifestyle;
Inspiring compassion and service; and
Joining with others to support the overall wellness of the Sage Hill community
Ninth and 10th Grade Wellness meets once a month during Physical Health class, dance class or a student’s free block (if they're participating in athletics). Topics of discussion include stress management, sleep, proper nutrition, exercise, diversity, healthy relationships and others.
