Sage Hill Hires Head Coaches for Girls’ Lacrosse, Boys’ Volleyball

By Daniel Langhorne
Sage Hill School recently named new head coaches to lead its Boys’ Volleyball and Girls’ Lacrosse programs.

Jordan Hoppe and Kelsey Turchi join a growing list of new coaches bringing fresh, competitive energy to Sage Hill Athletics.

Most recently, Turchi served as girls’ lacrosse assistant coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, where she saw the team compete at three Trinity League championships.

“I’m excited to lead the Girls' Lacrosse program at Sage Hill because it offers an incredible opportunity to develop young athletes,” Turchi said. “I’m looking forward to building a supportive, competitive and empowering program where students can reach their full potential while having fun and forming lasting connections with teammates.”

As an athlete, she played midfield, providing her with experience on both sides of the field. Turchi also coaches club lacrosse at Mad Dog Lacrosse and West Elite and has experience working with athletes from third through 12th grades. She also has high school coaching experience for soccer and golf.

As a student athlete, she played midfield for Tesoro High School Girls’ Lacrosse. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications in 2019 from Cal State San Marcos, where she played and coached club soccer.

Hoppe comes to Sage Hill with experience as a collegiate and professional volleyball player and coach. He played at both Orange Coast College and Concordia University before playing professionally for the Las Vegas Ramblers and on the international circuit for beach volleyball.

Most recently, the Midwest native served as assistant coach at Orange Coast College and Head Coach at Balboa Bay Volleyball Club. Hoppe’s career also includes a stint as an assistant coach for Lightning Boys’ Volleyball in 2021.

Hoppe said he’s excited and honored to lead the Sage Hill Boys’ Volleyball program, which won its first CIF division championship last year.

“I am eager to build a program that fosters athletic excellence and cultivates strong character and personal growth on and off the court,” Hoppe said. “My focus is seeing an impact first with these young men. Obviously, the goal is to get back to CIF but I want to make sure they leave this program better, stronger,  more disciplined and ready for whatever’s next.”
