Sage Hill Nets 88 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Sage Hill School celebrated 41 students recognized in the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for outstanding achievement in themes including photography, painting, poetry, personal essay, critical essay, flash fiction and more.

These Sage Hill students earned 88 awards, which included 30 prestigious Gold Keys, the highest awards. These awards were handed out to art and writing students in the nine-state Western region.

“Each year it is a great privilege to see our Sage Hill students' excellence recognized outside the walls of our classrooms,” English teacher Arlie Parker said. “I’m very hopeful that our students' success this year will continue to inspire the creative efforts in our school community.”

The writing categories saw Gold Key Awards go to Jayla Chan ‘26 for Flash Fiction, Ananya Devkirti ‘26 for Critical Essay, Amy Jia ‘27 for Poetry, Doyoung Lee ‘27 for Personal Essay & Memoir, Taite Nicholson ‘26 for Critical Essay, Meilin Shen ‘26 for Journalism, Katelyn Yeh ‘26 for Humor and Grace Yan for Poetry and Journalism.

Among the Gold Key recipients in art were Veronica Cai ‘28 for Mixed Media, Sarah Huang ‘26 in Mixed Media, Katarina Isakov ‘27 for Photography, Ariel Kang ‘27 for Printmaking, Jessimi Lyu ‘28 for Photography, May Shen ‘26 for Painting, Emily Song ‘26 for Drawing & Illustration, Maggie Wang ‘25 for Drawing & Illustration as well as Painting, Luke Wu ‘25 for Drawing & Illustration, Nancy Xu ‘25 for Portfolio for Art, Painting and Drawing, Anna Yang ‘25 for Fashion, and Grace Yan ‘25 for Portfolio for Art, Photography and Mixed Media.

Gold Key Award winners will be nominated for the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards set to be announced in March.
