FBLA Competes in Southern Sections; 11 Students Advance to State
Sage Hill’s Future Business Leaders of America competed in the California FBLA Southern Sections on February 10 at Valencia High School, and 11 students advanced to the state competition in April.
It was the first competition this season for FBLA, which aims to prepare students for success in business leadership. About 14 teams competed, with 27 students from Sage Hill participating. Sage Hill came in 7th place overall, and our students received multiple individual awards.
Brooklyn Button came in 6th place for Economics and 2nd place for Public Speaking. She advances to the state competition in both events.
Kate Miller came in 9th place for Intro to Business Procedure and 2nd place for Sales Presentation. She advances to the state competition for Sales Presentation.
The Entrepreneur team (Pirooz Romouzi, Ben Du, and Olivia Kaneko) came in 5th place and advance to the state competition as well.
The Sports & Entertainment Management team (Darius Shayan-Smith and Matteo Merage) came in 6th place and move on to the state competition.
Kelly Hong won 1st place in Health Care Administration and advances to the state competition.
In Intro to Business Communication, Devin Lavacude-Cola came in 7th, and Kaylana Lee took 3rd place. Kaylana advances to the state competition for this event.
Isaac Choi secured 6th place in Intro to Business Procedure, qualifying him for the state competition.
Alex Tse also came in 6th place for Intro to FBLA and advances to state.
Last but not least, Daniel Min came in 9th place for Securities and Investment.
