He is also Chairman of the Board for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc and was previously the Chief Executive Officer. The first non-McCarthy family member to lead the company as its chief executive, Mike has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. In his current role, he directs the national builder’s strategic planning efforts. Mike joined McCarthy's Phoenix office as a carpenter superintendent in 1981 and moved up through the business serving as director of operations for McCarthy’s Parking Division, executive vice president of operations, senior vice president of construction services and ultimately Pacific Region president prior to assuming his current role. Mike graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs with a B.S. in General Engineering, and from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley with an M.F.A. in Guidance and Counseling. He and his wife, Debi, are the parents of Shelby (‘13), Haley (‘15), and a younger daughter, Morgan (‘20).
