    Bio
     
    Justin Johnson first came to Sage Hill in January 2019 as the new Head Coach for boys’ varsity volleyball. In summer 2019, he joined the Science Department as a Biology teacher. Previously, he was a science Substitute Teacher at Mater Dei, a teacher for C3 Classes in Mission Viejo, and an ocean science instructor and teach/research vessel manager at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. He received his bachelor’s degree in environmental systems from UCSD and his master’s degree in environmental ecology from the University of Helsinki, Finland. Justin is passionate about teaching and focuses his teaching on experiential learning. Justin has competed in professional and high-level volleyball, enjoys teaching and learning outdoors, and is passionate about Human Impacts on Marine Ecosystems.

    Bio
     
    Peter Jordan came to Sage Hill in 2021 from the Bentley School in Lafayette, CA, where he was the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management. He has more than 25 years of experience in education, ranging from middle school science teacher to Associate Dean of Students to Academic Dean. He also has 15 years of high school coaching experience, with a particular focus on soccer. Mr. Jordan has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Earlham College, a master’s degree in education administration from Columbia University, and an education specialist degree from the University of Virginia.

    Mr. Jorden came to Sage Hill School in 2006 after spending five years at Archmere Academy in Wilmington Delaware, where he taught Honors English and Creative Writing and coached the forensics and cross country teams. Mr. Jorden received his MFA in fiction from Arizona State University and earned a dual bachelor’s in English and communication from the University of Southern California. He has been involved in many facets of school life since joining the Sage Hill faculty. During his years at Sage Hill, he has headed up the school’s sophomore Service Learning program, and served as an assistant cross country coach, advisor for the school’s Christian Club, and staff member for the Academic Resource Center. Mr. Jorden was also previously the Chair of the English Department.
