    Bio
     
    Dr. Farrish joined Sage Hill’s History Department in 2016. Before coming to Sage Hill, Dr. Farrish taught American Studies at California State University, Fullerton and History at Bard College MAT, Los Angeles. He earned a B.A. from Michigan State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University. From 2003-2005, Dr. Farrish taught high school English on a Fulbright grant to South Korea. He has published scholarly research in the fields of race, labor, and food history.

    Michael Farzley joined Sage Hill as Associate Director of Athletics in 2022. He comes to Sage Hill after more than 25 years as the Director of Athletics at Chadwick School, where he oversaw program operations, scheduling and logistics for high school and middle school athletic teams. He has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach and a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University.

    Latin Teacher, World Languages Department Chair
    Bio
     
    Dr. Jeffrey Feland joined Sage Hill in 2017 as the Latin teacher and Junior Classical League advisor. He previously taught Latin, writing, vocabulary, literature and art appreciation classes at VanDamme Academy in Aliso Viejo. Prior to that, Dr. Feland worked at UC Irvine and UC Davis. He has a bachelor’s degree in Classics and English from UC Davis, as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in Classics from UCLA. He also holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Classics from UC Irvine. He served as 11th Grade Lead Class Advisor before becoming chair of the World Languages Department in 2023.

    Bio
     
    Pavle Filipovic joined Sage Hill School in 2017 as the head coach for the water polo and swim & dive teams. He also holds the position of Aquatics Coordinator and College Counseling Coordinator. Coach Filipovic has a strong background in both playing and coaching water polo and swimming. He was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and grew up playing water polo for the famous professional Serbian water polo club, Partizan WPC. He was a member of the Yugoslavian (Serbian) Cadet/Youth National Water Polo training teams from 1999-2002 before moving to the United States to pursue his education in 2005. In the U.S, Coach Filipovic attended Long Beach City College, where he lettered in water polo and swimming and won 2 California State Championships in water polo (2005 & 2006). Then, he transferred to Cal State Long Beach, where he competed on Men’s Water Polo Team at the NCAA Division 1 Level. He graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in Global Politics. He also holds Master of Arts in Teaching. He is currently part of the USA Water Polo Men’s National Team coaching staff and Olympic Development Program and he is also a Club Director and Head Coach for Imperial Water Polo Club.

    Associate Director of 9th and 10th Grade College Counseling, 10th Grade Lead Class Advisor
    Bio
     
    Alyssa Flynn joined Sage Hill in 2021 as the Associate Director of 9th and 10th Grade College Counseling. Most recently, she was the Director of Counseling & School Counselor at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. She held additional positions in the Counseling Department at the school since 2006. She is driven to help students achieve success by providing guidance on career options, higher education choices and life planning. Ms. Flynn received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She also holds a College Counseling Certificate from UCLA.

    Cassie Fuenmayor joined the Sage Hill college counseling team in 2021. Previously, she was a College Counselor at Santa Margarita Catholic High School and a Senior Assistant Director of Admission at Babson College. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Education in International Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also serves as Assistant Coach for the Boys’ and Girls’ Swim and Dive Teams.
