Coach Kerwin Walters has been coaching for the past 21 years. He has coached 13 at Sage Hill in the basketball and golf programs since 2007. Seven of those years were with the girls’ varsity Basketball team. His favorite part about coaching is getting to know his student-athletes and watching them grow both on and off the court. Coach Walters believes that sports are about the journey not just the destination. He loves coaching at Sage Hill because of the community and the fun environment. Coach Walters played football and basketball his entire life including at the collegiate level. He was born on the Caribbean Island of St. Croix and grew up in New Orleans. His time spent in New Orleans led him to become a huge New Orleans Saints fan. When he is not coaching, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife, Michelle, his daughters Kenna and Kirra, and his 120-lb. tortoise, King.

Maija Wilson joined Sage Hill Athletics in 2012 as an assistant coach for girls basketball.

Coach Wilson played professional basketball for Espoo Team in Finland and was recognized as the MVP of the team in 2010-2011. She also played for the women’s national team of Finland and was one of the captains for the junior national team.

Coach Wilson played for Saint Mary’s College of California and earned her bachelor’s in Business in 2008 and master’s in Business 2009. Coach Wilson has two children, Madeleine and Kayden, with her husband Kellan, who coaches soccer at Cal State Fullerton

In her free time, she enjoys coaching her kids’ basketball teams and cheering them on in swim, flag football and soccer.
