  • Rigorous and Competitive

Our teams and individual athletes have achieved success at the league, division and state levels. Sage Hill’s coaches and instructors, many of whom are former college and professional athletes, use their expertise and passion to help students reach their potential.

Beyond winning, Lightning athletics values teamwork, leadership and active participation. We welcome and encourage athletes of all levels of experience to try a new sport, enjoy being part of a team, and participate in healthy physical activity. Through athletics, we build school spirit and teach valuable lessons in sportsmanship, integrity, discipline, and courage.
Teams compete in one of three seasons: fall, winter, and spring. Most sports practice daily, immediately after school. Games and meets typically take place after school or on Saturdays. We encourage multi-sport athletes to participate in as many seasons as they desire. We also offer an on-campus strength and conditioning program that enables athletes to maintain and improve their fitness in the off-season.

Our outstanding on-campus athletic facilities include the Peter V. Ueberroth Gymnasium; Ramer Field, a turf field for soccer, football and lacrosse; a baseball diamond on Hague Field; an all-weather practice track; indoor and outdoor weight rooms; the Brett Connor Jordan & Family Tennis Center and the Aquatics Center at Sage Hill.
